We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic secondary school in Birmingham. As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you will assist with lesson delivery, provide support in classroom activities, and help students engage with challenging concepts across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to students in various STEM subjects, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science
• Assisting in lesson planning and delivery, ensuring students are engaged and excited about learning
• Supporting students during class discussions, problem-solving exercises, and assignments
• Helping students with revision techniques, experiment procedures, and exam preparation
• Encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and a love for STEM
• Supporting classroom management and fostering a positive, focused learning environment
• Collaborating with the STEM department and other staff to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with additional learning requirements
Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:
• A 2:1 degree or higher in a STEM-related subject (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering)
• A genuine passion for STEM and a desire to inspire students to succeed
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
• Previous experience in tutoring or educational support is desirable but not essential
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt your approach to meet the needs of individual students
• A proactive attitude and a desire to help students with both academic and personal development
• An interest in pursuing a career in education
