About the Company

The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA), part of the UK Ministry of Defence, plays a critical role in maintaining and advancing the UK’s defence capabilities. It delivers cutting-edge nuclear submarines and associated systems in collaboration with Defence Nuclear Organisation, Navy Command, and Industry Partners. The SDA is committed to training the next generation of engineers and scientists to uphold national security through technical innovation.

About the Opportunity

The SDA Technical Engineering Graduate Scheme is a 37-hour per week, structured two-year programme providing hands-on experience across various placements within the Defence Nuclear Enterprise.

Key features include:

Roles across engineering and science disciplines such as nuclear, maritime, naval architecture, computing, and environmental science
Support from a Graduate Manager, Placement Supervisor, and Mentor
Opportunity to work towards Chartered or Incorporated status
Potential for MSc/MEng sponsorship and professional training
Competitive salary of £29,680 plus 28% employer pension contribution
Additional benefits: 25+ holidays, flexible working, relocation/accommodation funding, and access to MOD discounts
Post-scheme assignment to a permanent role within SDA or partner organisations

What We’re Looking For

UK National eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance
Minimum 2:2 in an engineering or science-related degree by September 2025
Five GCSEs (grades A-C/4-9)* including English and Maths
Demonstrated technical project experience through placements or academic work
Willingness to relocate within the UK
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
