About the Opportunity
This 2-year Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship begins in September 2025 and is based at the Boulby Underground Laboratory. You’ll gain hands-on experience with cryogenic systems, gas flow systems, pressure vessels, and particle detectors. Supported by industry experts, you’ll complete a BTEC Level 3 in Applied Science alongside competency training, with additional benefits including:

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- GCSEs (Grade C/4+) in Maths and English
- A-Level (A-C) in Maths or Physics, or BTEC L3 in Engineering*
- Interest in science, engineering and technology
- Basic scientific and technical knowledge
- Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills
- Health & safety awareness
- Quality CV and covering letter
Desirable:
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- High organisational skills and independence
