Role: Graduate Teaching Assistant

Pay rate: Up to £600 per week

Start date: September 2025

Are you a recent performing arts or sports graduate with a passion to support the upcoming generation and gain hands on experience working in the education sector?

Horizon Teachers are seeking driven graduates who are seeking experience in teaching and educational practice within our Primary schools across London. Applicants are welcome to apply from any subject specialism including Drama, Sport and Creative Arts.

The successful candidate will:

Working alongside the class teacher to prepare daily work for students, putting up displays and assisting as required within the classroom.
Ideally can offer games and coaching skills in one or more major sports and creative subjects including drama, football, basketball
Take responsibility for guided reading with students daily, updating reading records, completing the reading progress book fortnightly and monitoring that they are reading books appropriate to their level,
To maintain discipline in accordance with school policies at all times and encourage positive behaviour and approach to school life.
Ensure all safeguarding practices are followed in line with the schools policy, and all incidents are recorded and up to date.
Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and other school activities, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment
