We are seeking to recruit a Sports/Tractor Operative to work as part of the Sports Maintenance Team.
The Grounds and Estate Maintenance team, based at Taylors Lane, Oldbury provides a broad range of horticultural services to locations across the Borough of Sandwell.
The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance of sports areas/facilities to include the maintenance and preparations of bowling greens, cricket squares and wickets, football, rugby, hockey or any other sports related facility and associated cleansing duties.
The post holder will also be required to drive, operate and be responsible for various types of horticultural tractors and associated implements, to support the wider grounds maintenance requirements.
Candidates MUST have:-
- Minimum 3 years' experience of driving and operating horticultural tractors.
- Full driving licence with 12 months driving experience.
- Ability to drive and operate various types of vehicles.
- Experience working in a horticultural/sports maintenance environment.
- A good understanding of Health and Safety including COSHH, Risk Assessments, Working at Height, and Safe Methods of Work.
- Basic understanding and knowledge of the use of fine turf machinery and equipment and the use of chemicals, fertilisers where appropriate.
- Willing and able to undertake any appropriate training.
