This is a full time 12-month fixed term post to cover maternity leave

An exciting opportunity to join the Technical Services department at Glenside campus, UWE.

Technical Services support the School of Health and Social Wellbeing. This is a practical role, that is primarily student facing, you will report to the Technical Manager and be working with technical and academic colleagues to support and deliver clinical skills practical sessions, mandatory training and simulation activity, planning and preparation.

As well as facilitating practical learning you will be helping to lesson plan, investigate and purchase equipment and simulation aids and assist with stock control and equipment maintenance.

Due to cohort size, primarily this will be supporting Nursing (all fields) and Midwifery students, along with our other healthcare students including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Radiography, Physicians Associates and Paramedic Science.

You’re a registered healthcare professional, with an excellent clinical skills set, and will have up to date knowledge in this area and recent clinical experience.

You will be a team player and a clear communicator. You will have a passion for practical teaching and will have experience mentoring students, learners or colleagues. You will be able to think creatively and enjoy working with others to create a positive learning experience for our students.

This post is based at our Glenside Campus.

This is a full time, fixed term role covering a period of maternity leave for 12 months or the earlier return of the post holder, working 37 hours per week.

This role is campus based for all of your time with the opportunity on occasions to work from home with prior agreement from the Technical Manager.
